Snow Leopard 10.6.3 running beautifully on my Thinkpad T61p. Running from a second hard drive in the Slim UltraBay (where the CD drive is usually). Everything works - audio (speakers and headphones and mic), wireless, battery, full resolution video with some acceleration - framebuffer or something, but no QE/CL :( Overall fast enough to do work and use as everyday machine, but not good for the fun stuff (like HD videos and games), although probably Baldur's Gate will run fine...
OK, so now for the technical part:
1. Get Empire EFI 1085 or Legacy Empire EFI 1085; forgot which one I used, I think it was the Legacy one
2. Burn it to a CD
3. Get Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 retail disk (buy for $29 or download and burn)
4. (Optional) Get another hard disk so you don't mess up your windows - I got a new one, put it in, installed SL using the CD and DVD and then took the hard disk with the installed SL out and put the Win 7 back in; then I put the SL in the Ultrabay (instead of the CD drive) - now I have cool dual booting system without worrying about Mac OS or Win corrupting each other :)
5. Boot from Empire EFI, let it load, then take it out and put in the SL retail disk. Follow the installation instructions. Shut down when finished.
6. You can't boot right from the hard drive yet, so before you start your laptop, put the Empire EFI back in and boot from it, then use it to boot you SL installation on the hard drive (there is an option once Empire EFI is loaded - it recognizes a Mac OS on the hard drive and helps you boot into it.)
7. Go and download MyHack 1.1
8. Install MyHack 1.1 with AppleACPIPS2Nub, ApplePS2Controller, ElliottForceLegacyRTC, ElliottForceLegacyRTC, FakeSMC and NullCPUPowerManagement and I think Graphic Disabler
9. Reboot - you can take the Empire EFI out now, you will have a standalone booting Mac
10. Fix the resolution by adding: key Graphics Mode /key string 1680x1050x32 /string
(there should be less-than and greater-than signs around key and string, but Youtube doesn't allow)
to 2 files (maybe not needed but I did the two as I wasn't sure which one would work):
com.apple.Boot.plist in /Extra folder and in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration folder
11. Find, download and install IOPCMCIAFamily.kext by using Kext Helper - don't try just to copy to /System/Library/Extensions ; That will get your PCI cards recognized - at least that they are there, not what they are or what drivers they need
12. (Note: only works with the built-in wireless card with the Atheros chipset, not with the Intel one) Go edit IO80211Family.kext in /System/Library/Extensions - drag it to the desktop first, then go in it and go to Contents/Plugins/AirPortAtheros21.kext/Contents/Info.plist
string pci168c,1014 /string
under the
key IONameMatch/key
(there should be less-than and greater-than signs around key and string, but Youtube doesn't allow)
then save it to the desktop. Now go in and delete the IO80211Family.kext in /System/Library/Extensions and use Kext Helper to install the modified IO80211Family.kext from the desktop
13. Install VoodooBattery.kext and VoodooHDA.kext using Kext Helper (There is a bug in VoodooHDA.kext that makes terrible sound when you boot - to fix go in and change Info.plist
iGain key to 0
BEFORE you install VoodooHDA.kext using Kext Helper)
Now you should have working full resolution video, sound and WiFi. No acceleration on the video, but there seems to be some buffer or it's using the VRAM or something because the interface is butter smooth on my laptop and even the animation and effect work great... even youtube and hulu videos are very smooth, but not downloaded movies and HD videos :(
14. Delete NVDAresman.kext from /System/Library/Extensions
15. To fix the font looks
Just open Terminal (in Applications - Utilities) and paste this command, then press Return:
defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain AppleFontSmoothing -int 3
16. Make sure you go in System Preferences and in Energy Saver and set the Computer Sleep on BOTH Power Adapter and Battery to Never
i have something problem with my video card ( Nvidia Quadro 140NVS )
can you help me :D

@linh17121989 Hmm, I never really did anything to make the video work - I know on T61p it's hopeless anyway. i just used MyHack 1.1 and removed NVDAresman.kext and tweaked the resolution in com.apple.Boot.plist in /Extra folder and in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration...

@linh17121989 No, sorry, just what I have in the description. Empire EFI disk + vanilla retail disk... worked like a charm.
