Kneho Lacke manufactures paints for diverse sectors including the furniture industry. Because of the
chemicals handled in the production workshops on a daily basis, some areas are classified as
explosion hazards. Consequently, there are highly specific demands made on the doors to be located
there. Apart from the desired speed, operational reliability and high quality, additional demands are
made on the drive unit, electrical cabinet and impulse device in compliance with the ATEX directive
relating to areas subject to explosion hazard.
High demands are naturally also made on the doors electronics and how they are handled. Thus the
electrical cabinet is placed separately outside the door and the area of explosion hazard. But the
directive also insists that the mechanical wearing parts be designed to minimize the risk of producing
sparks, for example.
For more than 60 years, Kneho Lacke has specialised in manufacturing products for refining wood
and other surfaces such as metals, glass and plastics. The companys principal aim in developing new
recipes is to protect all these resources. The protection of persons and environment is thus of special
importance for Kneho Lacke.
