  • what a shame.... To see what id consider to be works of art that were mass produced in america no longer exist makes me sad...from the 50's thru the late 70's Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac,Chevy all turned out some nice rides...full frame, solid steel, big v8 under the hood...Cars today are a fuckin joke, not to mention a death trap.. cheap plastic, light weight shitboxes that where if ya tap something the bumper falls off...

  • @beers2257 Todays cars are are way safer that any 60' or 70' cars. Not to mention way more powerful and faster better gas milage quicker, stops shorter, circles a race course at speeds unobtainable by 70's cars

  • Damn I was still swimming in my dad nutsack when this came out

  • No wonder Oldsmobile went bankrupt. Once upon a time, GM would heavily advertise SINGLE MODELS within their huge stable of cars. Now they even advertise different makes togetherThe flames burning in the background, it looks apocalyptic. They just don't advertise like this anymore. EVERY YEAR they had a new theme song to trumpet the new cars for EVERY MAKE. I acquired a 45 record for Pontiac '70, this song, "Beginning of Tomorrow" which was the theme for 70 Pontiac, and "The Humbler" just for GTO

  • I want the girl.. No scratch that. She's an old woman by now.

  • @stimeeee 1970 was the last great year, but Nixon created the EPA in 1970 and forced 1971 cars to run on unleaded gasoline. That caused HP to drop like a rock the next year. We were still on the gold standard and gas was 36 cents a gallon. In 1973, carmakers were forced to put in energy absorbing bumpers on the fronts of cars. In 1974, states were forced to lower their speed limits to 55 mph. The 1970s were the dark age of motoring. The veil wouldn't be lifted until the mid 1980's.

  • @racerboyroy technicaly better but 68-72 cutlass 442 will always be my favorate and old muscle cars r WAY cooler than new 1s 68 gt500 elenor or 2010 gt500 thats not even a real shelby

  • @iceman30five Maybe he should have pulled out. LOL

  • Pontiac is going to make a comeback big-time :-)

  • My 1st car 8-D same color and everything! I bought it used in 82 for $800. Next car 73 LeMans Sport. Presently pushin an 04 GTO.

  • @a7x76 The music is from the 1970 commercial. They werent using this music in 1979. If someone dubbed the music over the 1979 commercial, that's probably what you saw.
