Bluegrass Guitar Lesson Series: Here is a sample of cross picking through the C major scale in open position. It'll give you an idea of how you can expand you lead playing to incorporate more of the chord structure.

  • This is great Adam. your instruction is nice and slow and very helpful. I love bluegrass, I am new at it but I play weekly with a bluegrass club. your lessons will help me learn to be able to take a brake when its my turn, instead of having to pass. thankx

  • @barnard861 Glad to hear my approach works for you. Keep an eye on the 5th Fret website for more lessons and always feel free to ask questions that come up. Adam

  • Thank you so much Adam for your very good lessons in flatpicking and bluegrass.

Your lessons are more helpful for me than any book.

Best greetings from germany - Michael

  • @realmiguel1 Thank you Michael. It's always great to hear from the folks that the lessons are helping out. Stay in touch and feel free to ask any questions that come up. Adam

  • Thanks for this series. I am a bassist and a guitar strummer of many years. Your lessons are really making the technique open up for me in a very easy to understand way. My guitar playing has just taken off now. Thanks!!!

  • @2121toso Great to hear this material helps! Stay on it and if you ever have any questions, feel free to give me a shout. Also keep an eye out for some new things in December. Adam

  • Very well done as usual. Thanks for posting.

  • @mangrel

When I learned to Crosspick I gained speed through trying to play as weak as possible when i crosspick but at the same time as fast as I could. It's hard in the beginning but It forces you to hold the pick very loose and relaxed. Don't dig down with the pick unnecessrily much. Paradoxically I believe you have to be soft but firm, if that makes any sense.

  • Nice, thanks

  • @Sunburst64 Thats a Couesnon Chorus Model built in France in the early 50's. Fun guitar other than the position makers are in a different places, really messes with your head ;>)
