Holy crap, dude!
As a massive dot hack fan, you totally just made my day! I love how the sounds are exactly the same, but...can you do something about that town music?
-
this is great. is it still being worked on though?
-
@TheBoyInBlack No I have not had the pleasure of doing so, if I were to play it I would have to order it online because I don't believe they have the game in stores anymore. Anyways I was really thinking of how amazing it would be to make a free-roaming game like that.
-
@Yodaman1992 Have you never played .hack? Like seriously? Because if you had, you'd know that the fields in The World are completely separate from the Root Towns and always have been. That's pretty much one of the main things about it.

Love the Idea of being able to go to different areas of The World and everything, but The World is all connected being able to walk from an area to the city would be a nice idea to put in there instead of walking forever and not getting any where. That's what you call it, free-roaming games or Open World.

Looks nice.
If this doesn't have online I will be sad.
But I need to fix my PSP anyway, so it would be a while before I could play anyway...
new vid comin' coming later today (the 9th).
It will demonstrate a much more developed terrain also a fatty chunk of bug fixes i'm quite glad to have out of the way.
Since this video demonstrates the character creation, menu systems, etc. etc. the new version will be short and demonstrate the 22,000+ areas in the game.

@stupidlolz yea, I have never rigged or animated a model before - what you see is the product of it heh. I will refine all the animations before release for sure

most important question here: will there be online?
its possible im sure but im asking will there be online for this homebrew?
i dont really care when its released but at least there will be online right?

@moneraa I have given it great thought and my current design supports Online and I'd be very interested in finally getting some network programming experience under my belt (most networking I did was my personal primitive IRC client for the PSP). Sometime this year I will do an online game and I know one other experienced PSP programmer who is doing the same (hardhat). Either this will be online or I'll make an FPS similar to Halo: ODST (I love firefight) or a super smash bros type game.

@sg57
why do you always have an USB cable on your PSP?
Alot of people think that it is a FAKE because there was the same with Diablo2.
They just streamed the Pc Game screen on their psp and they were able to Control this game with their psp too.
If you want to make us believe, that you did this good Game yourself, make a video without an USB cable!

@diablooo3 I have the USB cable attached because I'm running the game through PSPLink. It allows me to debug and run the game off my computer's hard drive so I don't waste time transferring an EBOOT. Notice at the beginning I show a black window with a bunch of lettering, those are all my debugging symbols.
But sure I'll make a new video, I have terrains almost done. Now trees, rocks, snowman, igloos, skeletons, etc. populate the terrains plus the terrains are infinite so you can run forever
