Demonstration of a Hi Hat Drop Clutch

Apologies for the rubbish muttering. I forgot how to speak back then.

I was asked how a drop clutch works so here's a video that explains it. My drop clutch is a really cheap Stagg model that I got for something like £2.50, it isn't incredibly reliable but I don't need it that often so it's alright for me I guess!

Scottish, but yeah my voice absolutely sucks in this. I had like no confidence and I went through a wee phase of barely talking to anyone so I wasn't too great in this indeed. I will probably do another one soon. But hopefully anyone that was confused got the point with the visuals.

How tight is the lever? Can you hit it with a stick or something?

yeah you can - it depends on the clutch really. Mine is a bit crappy, but if you had a nice one you could probably whack it with a stick. It isn't very tight at all.

@MarkRiches You helped me understand how it works lol. Now, I'm a beginning drummer, I don't know all the names to parts, but when you buy the new drop clutch, do you have to replace the base to the bottom hat with one you bought with the clutch?
