@vordman I saw it and have it on dvd. There were rumours flying around about Hughie Green through my teens and I did not believe them because I was a fan . Even though he had turned into a loon.
But they were all true.

@macvatu There was a dramatisation made of his life a couple of years ago. If true, and many people who knew him vouch that it was, then yes, he was a truly vile man. Trevor Eve takes the lead role and plays it in a no holds barred fashion. When seen, you'll never look on Green in the same way again.

I must have been missing out on something about Hughie Green. He looked so friendly and decent on his shows, if what you guys are saying about him are true, then I'm really shocked. I heard about Paula Yates being his illegitimate daughter but the poor girl had all the bad luck in the world, though Mr Geldoff tried his best.

He was horrible to all who worked for him and tried often successfully to ruin the careers of rivals and others who he felt were in his way through smears,rumours and blackmail. He got lots of young women pregnant with false promises of 'I can make you a star' and took many bribes from people to rig his shows. Vile bastard he was

Just to add to is crimes he knocked a guy over drink driving and the guy lost a leg,i did like is shows though.
