  • I took many of these pictures on a summer weekend evening. I don't think it would be prudent to do a walking tour but there is a lot to see by car and it can be safe as long as you keep moving and keep your eyes open.

  • You're kidding, right? Most people would feel safer taking a tour of Bagdad.......

  • @Insert46 speaking of racists! you sound pretty racist yourself. once the white people left you could have made the town beautiful again, but oh-no, just bitch and moan, and wait for the government to fix it.

  • @thescooterbell

I dont think I am a rasist. This plant was owned by rich industrialist that used it up and left it to decay. There is no doubt that the neighborhood that it is left in has a crime rate, race has nothing to do with that

  • "And all your money won't another minute buy." -Dust in the Wind

"Buildings burn, people die, but real love if forever." -the Crow

  • @FrankeeFraud You let your racist brain get in the way of some other facts about Detroit. It was one stupid, mouthy, white boy cop like you that sparked a riot. Pissed off the big bad black man. Scared the white population and caused them to go runnung off with their tales between their legs. Never to return!!! See what you do whiteboy. Maybe next time watch what you do or shut your racist mouth!!!

  • I've been thru there taking pics before. No big deal....walk softly and carry a big Glock.

  • Terribly sad how Detroit has suffered scars from '67 riots, and economic decay after.

  • We are not home yet. These things to will pass away.

  • This is so sad. It makes me want to just cry. What was once such a beautiful and vibrant city is now in a state of ruins. This was my home. But home is where the heart is.

  • You must not care anything about history. Detroit is one of the most historic and important cities ever. It was the most innovative city in the world at it's time....in another era. Don't bash it. There is a lot of history behind those buildings.

  • "Oil reaches too high a price?" Ya mean I've been blaming Detroit's destruction on the White polulation leaving, and the city being taken over by Negroes unfairly, when it was gas prices all along? How narrow minded of me. :'-(
