http://www.therenegadehealthshow.com - The buzz about agave nectar has hit the web...

There are rumors that food companies have been using corn syrup instead of agave to sweeten their foods. There are also rumors that it's just as bad for you as high fructose corn syrup.

Is it true?

After seeing the resurgence of doubt around agave, I've done some more research into it and have confirmed some interesting facts.

We've never eaten too much of it, besides in some sweets and deserts, (yes, we've used it a few shows as well) but even then, is it too much?

You'll want to catch this one and pass it along to a friend...

  • A better name for this is High-Fructose Agave Syrup NOT Agave Nectar...

  • Anyone ever tell you that you look like Chris Martin from Coldplay? Awesomeness!!

  • you can still use agave. use white agave from the plants. It is vegan and organic. Do not use blue agave and if you are (vegan? .. you clearly aren't) then do not use honey!

  • doesn't fruits have fructose?

  • who gives a shit dumbass.

  • Esta persona esta mal informada sobre los productos que utiliza para engañarlos!!!!

  • @Spookypalooza Ah, very good clarification and duly noted. :)

  • @LightCyrus Right. Aunt Jemima, Eggo or Vermont Maid etc are fake syrup with "maple flavoring" for pancakes etc. Those are indeed loaded with corn syrup and you're lucky if it has ANY real maple syrup in it at all. But REAL maple syrup that costs like $12 for a little bottle is organic whether they advertise it as organic or not. Some syrup makers don't label as organic. Maple syrup is only 1 ingredient - maple syrup. And the taste is MUCH better than fake.

  • @Spookypalooza I believe they add high fructose corn syrup to most commercial syrups and that is why they they should be avoided. Not organic + GMO is a no go for me. I have noticed an increase in flavor quality with organic syrup.

  • i thought you were vegan, honey isn't?
