In the Heights Medley pt1

I love hearing if your choir is going to do this song as well! It's a great medley, and a great show, so keep those comments coming. However, I do not at all appreciate comments like "My choir sounds better doing this." That is not at all constructive, and this concert was a year ago.

Lin-Manuel Miranda saw this exact video of the medley and forwarded it along to the cast and crew. Because of this video, our choir was selected to sing with Olga Merediz, the original Abuela, at the Taste of Chicago.

We were lucky enough to get to meet both Olga Merediz and Lin-Manuel Miranda prior to our performance. It really was a blessing, and even though this video may not do the medley justice, it sure was enough for Mr. Miranda.

omg this was horrible! this medley should only be aloud to be performed if u are a showchoir! my showchoir is doing this medley and it sounds wayyyy better! well prove it! search in the heights showchoir in may, u will see! u guys really didnt take this seriously!

Hi Jason,

I'm sure your choir will do great when performing this. Keep in mind that we were the first choir to do the medley, so we didn't have any sources to base our performance off of. Anyways, apparently this performance was good enough for Lin Manuel Miranda, as he forwarded it to all of the cast and crew, and invited us to sing at the Taste of Chicago with Olga Merediz (Abuela in the OBC).

This is an amazing medley, and amazing show! Congratulations for being recognized by Lin Manuel Miranda. That is definitely a memory to hold onto. The beauty of Latin music is in feeling the contagious rhythm and channeling passion into the performance...so ignore the negativity...because you all did just that. :)

We performed this at our spring concert. We had saw the Broadway performance a month earlier, and fell in love with In The Heights, so our director Mr. Smith got us to memorize it under a month. Everyone agreed that it was the best song that we performed that day.

You guy did a really great job. our advanced choir is doing this as our finale this year. But are so lucky because the actual broadway star who plays Nina and Vanessa(Altering Days) her name is Gabrielle Ruiz is actually an old student of our directors so she is actually coming down to work with us and actually perform on our concert with us in costumes with full coreography im pumped. By the way your soloists were awesome.
