Justin Singleton, a teacher at Carver High School in Houston, Texas, was surprised on October 9, 2007 with a $25,000 Milken Educator Award for being an outstanding teacher. Milken Family Foundation Chairman Lowell Milken made the surprise announcement in a schoolwide assembly, with dignitaries including Texas Commissioner of Education Robert Scott.
