The grace and beauty of these small wonders is brought to light as the magic of high-speed photography reveals their movements in close-up, slow-motion detail. Filmed in Santa Clarita, California with the Casio EX-F1 at 300 and 600 fps.

The music is "Modus Operandi" from the "TimeShift" CD by Technician (yours truly). Full artist discography, MP3 downloads and CDs are available at the Technician website: HTTP://technician.jcmdi.com

  • Wow, didn't know butterflies glide so much during flight.

  • @123eldest Indeed some species do glde a LOT (especially the larger ones) while others are under constant powered flight and don't stop flapping at all until they land... Thanks for checking it out! =)

  • Really impressive work! I have an EX-F1 myself and haven't been able to capture anything nearly as special...are you using any extra hardware or is that just the standard zoom?

  • beauty right before our eyes, brought alive by your excellent video techniques! Thks for sharing!
