@Vleesball the origin of soccer comes from Britian and the FA. It was a slang word used for the abbreviation of Association, Assoc. As real football became a popular game in the States some fools had already taken the word so the US had to call its version of the FA the US Soccer Football Association. To tedious for us lazy Americans so we shorted it to just the US Soccer Association and the rest is history. Were also very stubborn so good luck changing it... anyway, theres your answer
