couldn't imagine bringing in a big carp, a 20 lb channel cat was bad enough

thats a sturgeon isnt it? biggest freshwater fish i ever caught was a 20 lb carp. biggest bass was 8 lbs, not bad concidering i live in NH and the state record is about 10 lbs.

The choice of bait for sturgeon fishing is seasonal. For that particular time of the year (September), salmon roe and rotten salmon flesh were used.
