I was born around the same time ('65), I also grew up hiking and even camping all around Runkles.

I was born in '68 and grew up playing in the creek along woolsey canyon below rocketdyne. I would drink the creek water as a young kid. Later, as my hiking skills got better and I got braver, I hiked further North up the creek and found nice swimming holes that us kids used all the time. If only I knew then how tainted that water probably was I would have stayed away from it completely.

It's a shame that it has been kept under wraps for so many years, and still pretty much is. I think the News stations, the surrounding local governments as well as the Federal Government needs to bring attention to the public of the dangers that West hills, Simi Valley and a good portion of Southern California faces from all of this contamination. There is no excuse for our country to keep all of this quiet!
