Meet Ruby (Adopted!), Rusty, and Madeline. These cats have feline vestibular syndrome which causes them to walk around with a "crooked head." It's a rather cute symptom of a not-so-cute disease. It's caused by an inner ear problem that could be an infection or even a tumor. Sometimes it's unknown what caused the disease. It usually corrects itself within a few days, but the cat can be left with a permanent head tilt, seen here in three of our cats at Tabby's Place.
UPDATE: Cute lil Ruby has been adopted to her forever home!

  • We just took my cat to the vet. we still don't know what is wrong. they say it might be a stroke or vestibulars disease. i don't know which one is worse, but my cat is getting worse and worse everyday. My cat has a crooked head and keeps falling down. we think he might of went blind and he wont eat or drink. I'm scared we might have to put him down :'(

  • @Supergirlx46

I'm so sorry. I hope your cat is okay.

  • Definitely take her to the vet to ask what he or she thinks is best for this situation.

  • My poor kitty has this. We don't know how it happened, she just got really sick and that's what happened. I was told cats can get it from eating lizards. My cat always would catch lizards.

  • can it be cured?

  • How sad :( i had three cats and all three died in the same month it was so sad x( i hope ur cats get better

  • I turned my head because it did..... xD

  • This is a new disease to me. How sad.

  • It took about 6 days for the cat to regain it's balance and stop falling down, she still has a bit of a crooked neck but other then that she's fine.

  • How long did she take o stop falling down. My cat just got this also and it is day three and she is still falling down
