Game: Captive
Platform: Commodore Amiga
Played by: Llama

Great dungeon crawler set in the future, you play a prisoner with a briefcase computer. Via the briefcase stuck in his cell, he controls 4 robots in a space ship far away. Using these robots you explore and fight on many different planets looking for clues to where you are incarcerated and too ultimatly free yourself.
Great idea eh? Also spawned a great sequal Liberation : Captive 2.

  • @PantyhoseLos of course there was ! you could find dies in the gaame, they were there for this purpose , in front of such a door they would always tell you the next buton to hit. Took me also some times till i found that out too :D

  • oh wow, I spent so much time with this game. I almost threw a hissy fit when I played the entire thing, captive mission 0001, then got to the end and I was captured again and started back at captive mission 0002!!!! Can someone tell me though...was there a way to figure out the codes to the doors with the 4 corner buttons? EVERY one of those doors I had to spend like 10 minutes going through every possible combination until I got it right.

  • @sheepthehack There were several such bugs, I had a bug with a door code that i couldn't find, happily i found a code on a magazine, but later (affter the 11th space station) there was another such a bug, and never found that code (well i found it several years later on the net)

  • @bwlfp me too ! Altough i wouldn't say "lost", because i enjoyed them full time :D

  • brings back so many memories!

  • Man, this sure brings back some memories. I remember playing this the whole christmas in the early 90s. Fond memories.

  • classics like this are just never made these days.. amazing game.. still a fucking ps3 beater.. id sit and play this for a lot longer than i would mw2 or any of those games and dont get me wrong.. i LOVE those games.. but the old classic RPGS (not fucking dungeon crawlers - these are FULL RPGS!!! the term DC just takes so much from them) just cant be beaten!!!! btw.. im very sceptical that you beat this game.. as you needed codes for planet 9999999 from an amiga mag cus of a bug in the game.

  • I very much doubt that.

  • I played this game to death when it came out. Managed to complete it. Thanks for rekindling the memory!
