Skyscraper. Part 11

"...Go on and try to tear me down...I will be rising from the ground...like a skyscraper..."

I let out a slow breath. What was I so nervous about? I'd been planning this for awhile now...but I guess the it's the waiting that has me anxious. I wasn't sure what to expect and I wasn't sure how to feel. From the day we first met,to the day we started dating,to now has been quite a journey. If I had the chance to do it all over...I would,because she means that much to me. I'd gladly go through all the drama,all the tears,all the pain,and all the heartache if it means I get to have her in the end.
Looking back,I don't regret the decisions we've made. I don't regret all the hurtful words we've exchanged; it only made us stronger. The only thing I do regret...is the time I spent away from her.
I've never felt such a strong bond with anyone before and so it scared me to commit to her. I was scared that if it didn't work out,we'd lose the friendship we had and I didn't want that to happen. I wanted us to stay close and to always feel like we could rely on each other.
The days went by in a blur after we'd broken up. I'd wake up in the middle of night calling out her name as if she'd be there. I watched my life fly by,hoping she'd call me,praying she'd sow up out of nowhere and we'd be together again.
But that didn't happen...I had to fight for her and I did. I figured it was useless whining about what could have been when I should have been doing something about it.Every day was a battle for her love and eventually...I won.
As the time went by,my heart started beating faster and faster. My palms got sweaty and my knees got a little weak. I'm ready for this...I think.

"Do you,Joseph Adam Jonas,take Demetria Devonne Lovato to be your lawfully wedded wife. To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do you part?"
I smiled at Demi and said, "I do."
