This is an exceptional hillbilly bluegrass song. I had no idea Bob Wills played this well. Recorded in 1938. Vocals by Tommy Duncan. Enjoy!

  • Very good song. Western swing is an excellent genre and very blues based. Bob Wills, Tommy Duncan, Moon Mullican, Cliff Bruner, Milton Brown, Bob Dunn, etc. And it influenced Hank Williams and Jerry Lee Lewis as well.

  • This is an old blues song. Bessie Smith did the original if I recall correctly. The interesting thing about this session is that Bob Wills was not there. Notice he never says a word and plays no fiddle.

    It's a naughty song, and it's fun.

  • Ahhh Haaaa

  • I can't get enough of this early stuff. Just about everything Wills and the Playboys did from 1935-47 is awesome. For some reason I like the earliest stuff.

This blues number has a banjo solo and a clarinet! Wills was way ahead of his time when it came to arrangements and instrumentation, a genius.
