KITFOX VW 2180.wmv

This is the fourth flight of a re-powered KITFOX 4 with a VW 2180cc Great Plains VW - here are the numbers: climb is 900 FPM @ 3200 RPM - Cruise at 2400 RPM is 80 MPH - the prop is a Culver 62 by 26 and it turns at 3200 RPM WOT - the engine is great for the KITFOX 3 or 4 - firewall forward kit including engine mount, exhaust, cowl carb etc for about 7500 dollars! Go to Great Plains Aircraft Supply and speak to Steve - also call the great folks at Culver props at Valley Engineering!

hey thanks - there's lots of bad info out there about VW powered kitfoxes - I'm pretty happy with this engine even if it doesn't climb as fast as the 582
