It's not "The Government" in broadcasting...it's US- Canadians- so we get something more than "bought and paid for" news and programming. WE own the network - so ask around.Ask ARTISTS, JOURNALISTS. People that actually shape our identity. If you think that a strong public broadcaster serves no benefit to a nation - I think you are greatly mistaken. If your opinion is based on idiology...there is no point in talking

@HeathMulligan Sorry but it's not 1955 and the government has no business being in broadcasting directly . It's not your fathers CBC anyway and there is no Canadian identity in Wheel of Fortune .
