1939 Davenport over the Monocacy River, MD. - "The 25-ton, side-rod, diesel/mecahnical Davenport is our primary locomotive. Built in 1939, it was issued construction number 2291 dated February 1940.

The original owner was the Port of Richmond, Richmond, VA. The loco was used in the rail yard at the port to manage cargo for oceangoing ships. After the operation was converted to trucks, WS acquired the loco in 1996. Originally, the prime mover was a Caterpillar D-17000, but we installed a Cat 3406 in the late 1990s after the crankshaft broke."
