  • Also, is there any way to have this encoded in H.264? Those of us with iPhones and iPads can't view this :( Thanks.

  • @timcherylp

Ok, I just did a quick check of some settings and I have checked an option to allow this video to be played from mobile devices. Hopefully this should do the trick.

  • @timcherylp

But, it appears that it might take some time for the changes to update and take place. I'll check into this tomorrow and see if it has been fixed. If not, I'll see if there is anything else I can do from my end to fix this problem.

  • I enjoyed it thoroughly. Well done. One very minor critique: at 1:00 the lyrics refer to "circling choppers slash the night, with golden searchlight beams...", yet the image of the shuttle is in full daylight. Perhaps you could start the nighttime images here. Cheers!

  • @rcharding

    thank you!

and, now I realize all that I could have done to make it better. What you mentioned is one of the things which bug me every time I watch it. I wish I could go back and change things such as this, but alas. . .

truthfully, I made this video just because I wanted to see a video like this. I never expected it to get 1,000's of views. Looking back, there are so many things I could have changed and made better.

I am glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for the critique! Cheers!

  • Mike Fincke the astronaut on the shuttle Endevors last voyage may 25 2011 just had the astonauts wake up in their morning on the space station to countdown from Rush. I think NASA should make countdown one of their offical songs. Mike Fincke (Spanky) is totaly cool. Thanks Mike, and Thank you RUSH

  • Great one: Technology-high...so true, but still so far to go.

  • I don't think I'm alone when I say that this is, without question, THE most under-rated RUSH song of all time.

  • Great, GREAT job on the video!!

  • The audio is Columbia. RIP Columbia.

Too bad NASA is a crime organization.

  • Great Video and Music. Awsome technology. Now they write love letters to muslims...what a waste. The future of mankind is in space or we die when the earth does. Asteroids, solar flares, pollution - whatever.... Maybe the chinese or french will save mankind.....

  • That was an AWESOME video. Thanks for the ride.

  • @429chet I would have gladly suited up rode in the cargo hold if NASA had let me. Light the candles, let the girl take flight? Solid fuel gets only 1 shot, burns until no fuel left. As for half roll, stand as man I shed tears every-time I saw it? Graceful was it not?

  • awesome, I get chills running down my spine every time I see the shuttle make that half roll on to its back. I dont know where those guys/gals come up with the testicular fortitude to want to take that ride!!!!!

  • @y16amp my thoughts too!!!

  • You captured the essence of the song beautifully! I love it!

  • I remember this song when it first came out, and the first Shuttle lift off. THey are retiring the Program, but people must not forget the importance of this program. All those who speak on cell phones, or look at the Hubble pictures owe a great deal of gratitude to the Program. Rush was the first to recognize it's importance, and are forever linked to SHuttle Program.

  • Superb!

You do this brilliant piece of music absolute justice.

This wonderful combination of sound and video tells you everything you need to know about the aspirations af mankind

If watching this doesn't move you then you are officially D.E.A.D

  • @msim93 No, thank YOU!

This video may not be perfect, but it comes so damn close! You did an awesome job on this!!!

Every time I hear this song, and now while watching the video, I get teary-eyed(Literally! I'm having trouble seeing my keyboard!!), because of the beauty of humanity and human endeavors like going into space. It truly fills me with awe(hence the use of the often over-used word "awesome")...

RUSH f'ing RULES...and so does this video!!!

  • Well only Obamanation would ax the NASA program

  • Federal government shoud have never ever axed NASA . I think a bunch of morons are running our country now.

  • That was awesome good work

  • takes my breath away\

    birthday jan 28 1967

a day that lives in infamie

    jan 28 1986

    god bless then

  • takes my breath away\

  • @msim93 Dude, you've got nothing to apologize for - the footage is awesome! I get chills just watching this and listening to yet another great Rush tune...thanks for the post!!

  • @timcherylp VERY simple technical way: Use/install Mozilla Firefox, then the add-on 'Videodownload Helper'. When the video starts, three grey balls start to spin and change to red, yellow and blue...right click the spinning balls and look down at 'Media'...hover your cursor over word 'Media' and up will pop all the YT video versions available; on top almost always is an 'MP4' version, which of course, is Iphone/pad compatible!!! I use this for everything anything I want on the Tube-enjoy!!

  • We enjoyed the music, Bob. Thank you.

  • I absolutely love Geddy's Oberheim synth work on Signals.

  • A proud American achievement for the World....

  • NASA could invite Rush to the last shuttle launch in appreciation for the song Countdown!!!!!

  • one of the greatest RUSH songs ever.

    Greetings from Holland
