Joes Team is composed of individuals with vastly differing athletic abilities and ages who have challenged themselves to raise money for cancer research by participating in an annual sprint triathlon. Last year 290 people, most of whom had never attempted a triathlon, crossed the finish line and raised over $650,000 to fight cancer. This group included two blind athletes who completed all three stages of the event.
Living with vision loss should not be a barrier to enjoying lifes pursuits or being challenged physically. A challenging run, deep swim, and long bike ride can all be accomplished with perseverance and a positive attitude. For anyone this event will be a life-changing experience, and will inspire in all participants, the belief that any obstacle can be surmounted with hard work and dedication. But, most importantly, it will be a lot of fun!
