  • Thanks for the comment. The seagrass used was 4/5mm dia. It's the most common size.

  • This really didn't show any detail. How is it woven, what tools did you use you just kept cutting from one stage to the next leaving out all the important techniques aaahh !!!

  • This video shows a basic repair, a simple under/over weave, which you can see so clearly and I didn't mention any tools as none were necessary. It's all done by hand. Alas..no important techniques. Just a little know how!

  • Thanks for this. I had been planning to replace the whole of my Grandfather's woven stool seat with new seagrass but it looks like I should be able to do some (faily extensive) repairs instead!

  • Thanks for replying I understand the basic weave technique. I thought you had to use a special needle & spacers. My little stool I want to restore seems to have a double layer of weaving. Thanks for your help.
