The Tijdmachine (Time Machine) is a sound installation designed and build by Danny de Graan and Marijke de Moel. It was commissioned by the the IJsbreker and was placed in the Klankspeeltuin (sound play garden) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It was designed for children between the ages of 6 and 12. It consisted out of a black room in which a big mushroom like object was placed. Above the object a camera was mounted which was connected to a computer. The computer was running colour recognition software named BigEye by Steim. The software converted the colour data into midi data which was processed in MaxMSP.
