Circa 1998. Originally designed for Windows 98, I decided to convert it to a DOS gaming system. It came equipped with an Intel PIII 500MHz. processor, but the 100MHz BUS is a little too fast for a DOS box. I changed the processor to an Intell PII @ 333MHz. also changing the BUS speed to 66MHz. It turned out to be a rock solid system. The built in ESS sound chip works good and is very compatible, but there is no substitute for a SoundBlaster card, so a CT2770 was added to complete the system. It is one stable system. 601k free conventional memory after loading DOS drivers for the SB16, 3COM PCI network card, MS-Mouse, ANSI.SYS, DOSKEY, MSCDEX, ect...

  • How to get the case fan out of the plasitc bracket?

  • @MixerVM Remove the two plastic retaining pins located on opposite sides of the fan mounting holes, pull on the release tabs (a small amount of force is needed) and the fan will fall free of the bracket...

  • @LegacyMicro How to remove the pins though?

  • @MixerVM Slide a small screwdriver under the head of plastic retaining pins and pry them up. Be careful not to damage the rubber boots. They are there as a noise deadening component. Hope this helps...

  • wait... one of the mods was a remix of SPACE DEBRIS! SPACEDEB.MOD if I remember right, I overplayed that one a lot for some reason...

  • what music did you use for the intro & rest of video... sounds like a .MOD file or .S3M squarewave synth... I used inertia player and Winamp all the time back in the day to play mods and s3m's, before the MP3 was around.

  • Where did you get the music you used in this video? I really liked it.

  • Very interesting. Really nice restoration.
