Continuing on with the tradition of doing covers different from their originals, this time we go to what John Peel dubbed "The best pop song ever written." I may not quite agree, but it's also hard to disagree as well.

I recorded this on the first day of 2008 and just forgot to post it. Pretend it's the first day of 2008 for viewing purposes, deal?

Also, please forgive my mediocre solo. This literally was the first time I had ever played in standard banjo tuning and didn't give myself time to practice because I was so excited at being legit finally (I usually cheat with my tenor banjo and play in ukulele C).

  • Sorry my bad english.

Great song and voice! I love the sound of your tenor banjo.

What is the gauge of the strings? Metal or nylon strings? Tuned in gCEA? Greetings from Spain :)

  • The strings are .030-.009 gauge and all metal, tuned to DGBD. Much thanks from Pennsylvania!
