This song is so beautiful about how Mary, only a simple woman, was willing to do what God asked her and that was to bear God's Son and allow him to be born to die. All for the sake of the love of mankind. Jesus Christ was the final sacrifice. Before Him, you had to offer sacrifices for sin, but through Him we are saved. He was the fulfullment of a deep love God has for us, reversing what Adam's sin had brought to us. Truly Jesus is the breath of heaven...

Rachael Lampa has an amazing voice. I love this song and her rendition of it...although I love Amy Grant's version as well. I can't believe she's (Rachael) a backup singer now. Ugh!

I actually think this is a better voice quality than Amy Grant...(this comes from singer too). It has a little more comptemporary delivery... More Kelly Clarkson mixed with Grant. The video is poor, but I wish there was studio recording of Rachel singing this...
why is she a back up singer now? for whom?

It's awesome that Rachael is Jordin Spark's background singer...show's Rachael's humility.

Everytime someone says that i know their age before seeing their profile lol.

better than Amy Grant, in my opinion.

@nnglfc13 Yeah she was. Not sure if she is now. I hope she isn't.

@Sevinfootongue What???? NO way! That's not where she belongs. I adored her when I was 13-14.

I'm in love with this song! And I'm in love with this version! I wish she had a recorded version!

Thank God she doesn't attempt to sing it in the horribly irritating falsetto style which is so popular these days. She gets an extra star for this.

Have you heard Kari Jobe's version?

Don't know how it really went down in the studio but officially Grant is pegged as the co-author of the song.
Lisa Fischer singing with Grover Washington on sax is the most chilling version....simply magnificent version. But how talented is Amy Grant to have written this masterpiece.

Breath of Heaven was actually written by Chris Eaton and performed by Amy Grant. But I do like Amy's version too.
