  • i've only snorkeled in the red sea (mahmya near hurghada) by now cause i aint got my divings license right yet. Is it hard to get one? And can i maybe better do that allready here in holland or do you advise me to take divings lessons in egypt? can't waite till i can dive with sharks, dolphins and big morrays :) Red Sea for life _0_

  • I think the PADI courses take around 3-4 days for Open Water. Now, if you train in Holland, your peers will think you a 'real' diver. If you train the warm, clear water of the Red Sea (or elsewhere), you'll get the odd disdainful look from those who got well and truly cold somewhere in the northern hemisphere. I stayed warm, and the Red Sea would be a great place to learn!
