Geologic of Blue Scholars

MC Geologic (born George Quibuyen) rode the Northwest hip-hop tsunami to worldwide renown alongside his Blue Scholars collaborator, DJ/producer Sabzi (Alexei Saba Mohajerjasbi). Together, the musicians pioneered change in not only Northwest hip-hop, but in that of the world. Geo's educated, thoughtful, and political lyrics marked a time of reckoning for a music genre known for its gluttonous, materialistic and mindless subject matter. The prolific duo have released five albums since their initial self-published release while performing throughout the world, and have most recently started a multimedia company called Mass Line Media.

Darek Mazzone spoke to Geo at the wildly popular Seattle event "The Program" featuring five days of Blue Scholars performances.
