@AbraxasLady - Thank you so much :-) The drum is from Issam Houshan's "Bellydance: The Art of the Drum Solo" CD. It's titled "Tabla Solo 1". There's a lot of good shorter drums on that CD

what does it feel like to be pregnant and belly dancing? I am a belly dancer and curious just because one day when I do have my first child I'd like to carry on belly dancing during the 9 months! you look lovely and so happy. x

@katiewitch Thank you so much! It is kind of an odd feeling, like you're trying to move an extra ball of weight around. Doing an undulation especially feels weird. lol Moving the hips and chest doesn't really feel any different. As long as you're not doing anything that hurts it is perfectly easy to continue belly dancing. You just kind of re-learn your own limitations and find what you do best and stick to that :-) Keeping the tummy muscles strong helps so much for labor.

@hnnhvi I have actually done a belly dance article and part of it is about how good it is for pregnancy and childbirth- do you think it helped you when you went into labour?. I think you are a wonderful dancer and your moves are very natural :) I love your costume, you really suit white.

Yes. I am a homebirth advocate so learning techniques on how to make labor easy has always been a goal of mine. This baby was my second, but I also danced with my first child. I definitely believe that having strong stomach muscles help the labor process tremendously. Also doing some slow hip moves while in labor helped me relax and move the baby down the birth canal. After two pregnancies where I danced until the very end and then two home births. I wouldn't do it any other way. :-)
