( We Are Now Starting Something We Call, Video of the week. What this is, we will choose 1 video of ours from the week that we think was best or the best catch and it will be the video of the week.)

Location: Amity Street, Homestead, PA
Date: March 8th, 2009
Time: 16:06
Power: BNSF 7222 ES44DC, BNSF 9962 SD70MAc, BNSF 8892 SD70MAc, CSX 2575 Gp38-2, CSX 2284 Road Slug, CSX 6925 Gp40-2
Train ID: CSX Q389 Westbound Daily General Merchandise Cumberland, MD - Chicago-Clearing, IL

Remarks: FINALLY! Well this for Sure made up for having to miss out on the BNSF SD70ACe leading CSX Q368... After getting word of a westbound train with 3 BNSF units leading the train, we were determined to catch the train before we left. Well due to such heavy activity that day, i had to skip filming 2 more trains that came before this one to save camera battery. The One time, i dont bring my extra battery along for the ride... So finally after about 2 hours of waiting, the train finally comes and brings with it, one awesome Horn!

  • This is a properly-tuned K5HL horn, not a K5HLL. The newer K5HL horns have corrected the incorrect tuning found on older GEVOs.

  • The K5HL is a much more monotonous sounding horn. This is indefinitely a K5HLL manifold.

  • there was actually six units

  • BNSF GEVO leading FIVE other units, title description says just that...

  • that just made my whole week really nice vid thanks

  • Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.

  • @xxxDeath9572xxx Look up the intended tuning of the horn and play the notes on a keyboard. The intended tuning of the K5HL is a crunchy minor sixth chord: C, D#, F#, A#, C, which is exactly the chord that this horn is sounding. Older K5HLs had a different casting for the 1L bell that incorrectly sounded a B instead of a C, so to avoid a discord, the top bell was changed from a 4 bell (C) to a 4a bell (B) to round out the chord. That's why the two sound different - but they are both K5HLs.

  • wow cool

  • @xxxDeath9572xxx oh, ok

  • @xxxDeath9572xxx Hahahaha No problem...
