    The frequency for Channel 9 is 186-192 Megahertz (MHz); and when the WTC collapsed in 2001, all of the New York/New Jersey area TV stations began transmitting atop the Empire State Building like they did until the 1980s.

  • The sign-on itself, in terms of its production, may've been 1981-82, but in terms of when this was taped off the air, it was early 1983, a few months before WOR's city of license was switched to Secaucus, NJ. The voiceover, of course, was Phil Tonken.
