  • Good to know that big vice leaves plenty of room to work on this allegedly 'little' machine.

  • Looks like it works quote well - I'll also highly recommend the belt drive conversion.  The gearbox in the X2's are noisy as hell and prone to being easily damaged.

  • I am curious: how did you manage to overcome the backlash on the x, y acme screws.

    I am also converting my x2 and c3 to cnc.

    Are your steppers nema 23, what torque rating?

    could you please supply more info on the drivers and breakout board.

    I sincerely believe that your next project is to convert to belt drive. I made this changed and is possibly the best improvment.
