Man what a kick ass funk band! Get Off was their big hit back in 1978, reaching no.9 on Billboard Pop Chart. This song made it to no.19. Either way that lead singer was a hot number!!!!
@ishledesmay actually I think that was his second album. If I WAS ranking your hits I would rank Get Off 3, Hot Number 2 and Party Boys 1...a very under rated song but I STILL dig it!!
I was impressed to find that you played with ABBA on the VOULEZ-VOUZ album. That album, Xanadu and Led Zepplin's IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR made it a lot easier for me to be stationed at Lakenheath Air Force base far away from my family in California. They reminded me that great music was everywhere.
P.S. There is room for all great artists. I try to shy away from comparisons and respect you for suffering all (or some) of our comments. Take care.
I always considered this song was sort of the red-headed stepchild compared to the force of nature that was "Get Off". In truth, this is a solid song that can be covered in many different genres. I kind of wish that Ish sang the bridge too instead of just the girls-they sort of overwhelm the tune.
I haven't this song in over 30 years, thanks! I've always wondered what Foxy looked like, again thanks
