Identify the best dance videos on Youtube, and you'll find one technique in common.
The cameraman stations himself as close as possible to the dancer(s).
He shoots the video from belt height, waist height, and only rarely head height -- the higher the shot, the flatter the dancer appear.
He zooms in on individual dancers frequently to enhance variety and detail. (No one wants to watch a video of dancers they can't see.)
