  • Block: "Seasoned Iron" that's a creative way of saying used.

Rods: "Reconditioned" means used. Who would drop 5K (include tax and shipping people) on an engine with used rods that have already been through one engine life? Come on, at least spend a little more cash to get rods with a life cycle starting at zero.

  • Thank you for your comments.

"Block: "Seasoned Iron" that's a creative way of saying used"

-440's were produced between 1967 and 1978. Used blocks are the only option. However, the blocks we use are fully reconditioned with tighter machining tolerances than when they were "new." Typical, fully machined bare blocks will cost $1300-$1800.

-There is nothing wrong with the factory rods. They have been properly sized and checked for any cracks. Steel or iron rods do not loose strength over time. The 440 bottom end was bullet proof from the factory. The only main wear item in the bottom end is the pistons, which we replace. Don't forget our 12month/12k mile warranty.

  • - You would have a very hard time rebuilding a 440 with this power level for under $5k and finding a reputable company to warranty it for 12months/12,000 miles.

I hope this answered your questions.

  • hmmm....the video is cool....but the text is too fast....i couldn't read it :(...but nice ;]

  • There is another version with slower text. It was posted later and has fewer views. Do a search for the same title.

  • Don't knock the Mopars, They beat the fords and the Chevy's on the strips.

  • Well yeaah your "454" is actually a 570-something KB block with Hemi-ish heads, I would surely hope so!. Well over $4k is a understatement!

  • @monaco74 a used rod is a proven rod

  • @hotrods100 LOL that's funny... The Motor in this video is running manifolds, an intake that flows the exact same as a stock non EGR 60's intake, and the heads are just barely messaged, it's not a full porting job, and they are running the stock valve size. The 440 Mopar is the most inexpensive motor to build to 500 hp, it has been proven time and time again. Let me see your magical 350 vortec combo pump out 470lbs Tq. with a stock intake running through manifolds and I will be impressed.

  • fera isso nun chevette nao anda voa baxo

  • @deebo47 Unless you're talking about top fuel/top alcohol fc and dragster then you're wrong there, in nearly EVERY sportsman class chevy engines RULE the strip.

  • I tell ya what, I'm not a Mopar guy at all. But if if you ever been to a mud truck event and heard an uncapped 440. it's Awesome. This is a smokin deal for under 5k. Nice job

  • @Navajas440 Dude, if you drove that proper like, I'd worry about you.Cuz most guys would let the engine do the romping while they drive the bastard something fierce. 420 HP will get your heart beating and your blood flowing. Y'know what I mean, Just hearing the Big Block scream through the pipes is an addiction on and of itself. Just like a drug.

  • @Navajas440 yea there is no way in hell that i would drive that "proper like" haha

  • Not too bad of a deal, considering the 12 year warranty, 420 HP, and big block. Shit, Summit and Mopar Performance want $3500 for a 300 HP 5.9 Magnum . To me, warranty let's me sleep @ night. And in the Summit catalog, they've got a Blueprint Engine for a 408 Smallblock making 375 HP for $3995 for the base model and $5,495 for the dressed up model. I'd get it if ga$ was cheaper and I wasn't already building a 5.9 for my 81' 'Doba.

  • @mudcharger 9.0 compression is better on gas than 10.0, but it's a "warmed" RB engine w/ 7.2 liters of displacement. The best you could hope for, not romping it, would be 7-8 mpg. Maybe better if you use smaller tires properly inflated, everything in proper order, str8 alignment, electric waterpump, you could squeeze 1-2 more mpg and maybe, maybe get 11-13 on the highway, But as I said, you had to drive it properlike, no sudden stabbing the brakes or revving to the stopsign/light

  • I would love to but that in my 83 Raw w150
