  • Thank you for that! I have never met a savannah, but it seems to me that they are just as reliable as any cat. You just need to be able to read them, to communicate. Servals obviosly are interested in communicating with humans, so why would a hybrid be such a bad thing? In the BCR video you see a serval hissing through the fence, as is that was something a domestic cat would never have done. All cats go wild if they aren't cept with humans.

  • @gnusyster It really depends on what we consider "reliable". I have seen some cats that mark / pee and some that do not. I have not been able to tell why. Servals tend to hiss a lot when communicating my cats will do the same even my lower % savannahs do. Apollo an F5 (3% serval) will sometimes hiss when someone approaches him but then will want attention from that person. He has never bitten anyone.

  • @gnusyster I live on 4 acres and have a couple of ferral cats running the property. I have caught one of them before to neuter and release. Dealing with that cat was probably the most scariest incidences with cats that I have had.

  • Can you buy Serval kittens?? And do Savannahs grow winter coats???

  • In general you need a USDA license to own a Serval. I Don't own one and never have owned a Serval. I don't know all the issues relating to Serval husbandry. I see Savannahs as being a cat that kinda looks special like a Serval but still a domestic house cat.

  • Wonderful video! We just brought our two new Savannah babies home a few days ago and they have wonderful litter box habits. It's so funny because they both go in the box at the same time. When they are finished they actually wipe their paws on the side to remove any stray litter before getting on the carpet. Now if I could just get my existing cat to do that! :)

  • wow that is amazing. My cats just hop out and use the carpet. Hopefully that will continue when the become adults.

  • Absolutely agree - My mom and I have had more problems with regular cats (DSH) pee'g all over. My F2 SV uses the litter without any problems.

  • Good going. The more the public is educated about hybrids, the better it is for all of us.......and especially for our Savannahs!

  • @Lifeatthesharpend My point exactly :)

  • Big Cat Rescue knows that most of the stuff they said are false but since they don't agree with mating Servals and Domestic Cats they'll say anything to get people to agree with them. They should of just came out and said they don't agree with that instead of lying and making the Savannahs out to be horrible.

  • i got a f2 b female! she is sweeter then any cat ever,

  • This kitty is such a sweetie! :)

  • Thank you for your video. I can tell your cats adore you.

I too have a F1 Savannah and my friend has a F4. BCR's claims would be a lot more believable if they qualified their statements saying THEIR --not ALL-- Savannahs behave in a certain way. I could believe that. Without qualifications, BCR's statements are intentionally misleading.
