James Franco's Journey to the End of Taste

When they ask him to name his "guilty pleasures" on the red carpet for the 2009 Oscars, actor James Franco (Milk, Freaks & Geeks, etc.) can't come up with one.

Then he mentions that he's reading a book by Toronto writer Carl Wilson (Zoilus.com) called "Let's Talk About Love: A Journey to the End of Taste" (33 1/3 series) about Celine Dion and, as Franco says, "What constitutes taste." So he'll try to start watching some "bad" TV soon, he says, or at least listen to some Celine.

That is, when he's finished doing simultaneous MFAs at Columbia and NYU, and starring in Oscar-nominated films.
