If I remember rightly this elephant ended up attacking someone so was relocated to Somawathie park. Here it was so acclimatized to humans it took to visiting villages which resulted in it getting killed.
The people to blame for this are those who fed it, gawked and popularized this activity. I am appalled to see someone letting a child touch a wild elephant. Poor parenting at its worst. These are the people who killed the elephant through their foolishness.
Give me gun... I can kill the fucking basterds who complaint about this elephant to the forest dep. Thats why they have taken him away I suppose... What the fuck... I curse the basterds who should be responsible for this creatures death... May he attain nibbana... And never face this kind of a massacre again till he gain nibbana...
One spoiled wild elephant. Things might get worse at any moment. A small thing that would make it mad or inscure would be sufficient to get some people killed. A speeding vehicle making some contact with it would be a possible scenario. Also those visitors feeding it are not the best people to deal with a wild animal. Forest officers should relocated it to far from civilization. Good for it for not having tusks, or hunters will kill it without any trouble for those.
@daveforsrilanka ,,,Someone gave a video of this elephant to the Sri Lankans media and concerned that he may harm to the people, And authorities transported this beautiful creature to another place. But he suddenly died, because of the human acts. So sad to hear this kind of stories.. feel myself so shame on being human, sometimes!!!
omg i saw this elephant last yr when i went 2 sri lanka as a holiday. we were goin 2 dambula golden temple wen this elephant was on the street and if i remember correctly, it was a wild and frendly elephant. it stoped my aunties van and it let it go wen they gave it something to eat. this was in 2008 but wen i went in 2009, it wasnt there, they say it was shot.... is it tru??? i love elephants and i want to study more about these beautiful creatures wen i grow up (only 16)
