In Los Angeles, the food at your neighborhood Indian restaurant may be far from authentic. Anant Goenka serves us an explanation

  • @tiddilywink sounds good i`ll be round for dinner-but i`m not sure what pierogi or tamales is.ironiclly last night we had burgers for dinner ,but i must stress they were homemade.

  • @unclemort1960 The US is such a melting pot that I can't really say what is the best American dish or if any are truly American. My favorite dish my girlfriend makes is pierogi and sauerkraut, my mom - honey bbq ribs, my dad - chili, my best friend - tamales, my neighbors - moules-frites, etc. I can't actually recall the last time I ate a hamburger...

  • @tiddilywink what would you say is the best home cooked american diish i suppose its unfair to say that all americans only ever eat burgers i`m english and i don`t live entirely on chips

  • I'm American, and to me, it's authentic when Indians want to eat there and the flavors remind them of their home cooking. I like the spicy Hindu foods- Best food ever!

  • @Hashmountain typo: Northern

  • @tiddilywink Agreed! We have several places up in Norhtern Cali that have excellent spice levels. The hotter(spicier) the better, i have yet to meet a curry that could kick my ass!

  • Idk where the "Americans don't like spicy food" stereotype came from but it's soooo annoying.

  • I am Sri Lankan & have to say Indian food is NOT spicy for me..Sri Lankan food is way more spicy

  • white ppl suffer from eating a chilli flavoured packet of crisp!.. weaklings..

  • @balrajkumarmahadev Yes you are talking about worms, he ate eggs of this worm with any uncooked food. Nans are cooked under very hot temprature, any bacteria or worms or their eggs get vanished in that heat.Tell to your friend take care for uncooked indian food.
