flash doesnt fit to all browsers unless you build it like that. ajax is better for modules because its not xml dependent. you cant change every aspact of the site in 1 minute unless your flash site is just 1 photo and a sentence. who uses frames anymore.
flash is good for a couple things, video, widgets"somtimes", and games.
plus flash really blows for SEO unless you know how to script in deeplinking.
YEah but. 1. Flash fits allweb browsers. you don't need to Build the whole structure of Frames too fit every browser. 2. Flash is best for module webstites wean you wan't to only load stuff yo click on. 3. Basicly You can change Every aspect of the site in 1 minute. You don't need too wory for limitations of frames ETC. non flash websites are better for slow internet sites. static sites, portals that gather many persons.
m&*therf*ckrs if the CLIENT wants cheesy flash you gotta do it as tastefully as possible. its not always about what you want. everybody likes to dump on Flash in some kinda higher than thou "i'm beyond Flash" methodology. its like people in LA who brag about who much they don't care when they see a celebrity because it doesn't phase them.
Flash is good for video, audio and gaming purposes because it very universal, as opposed to using Real Media for example. In my opinion all flash sites hijack your viewing experience and make it difficult to read text, copy and paste and use other built in functions of your browser
There's an old networking saying that goes "Bandwidth problems can be cured with money. Latency problems are harder because the speed of light is fixed--you can't bribe God."
ISPs seem to offer higher speeds every year, but that's because it's becoming more affordable. But as far as networking technology goes, transfer speeds can't get any faster than the best available today.
The trick to faster-loading sites is advanced compression technology.
Installed on more than 850 million Internet-connected desktops and mobile devices, Flash Player enables you to widely deliver powerful experiences created with Flash.
It depends a whole lot on who the visitors are, their broadband speeds, howmuch traffic you get etc. Flash also doesn't help search engine indexing much, and can take more time than a simple html/css page to load. Agreed that they're talking about website built entirely in flash, i tend to think use it purely because you need flash (need, not want)
