Soile Isokoski sings two songs from the opera Ratsumies (The Horseman, 1973--74) by Aulis Sallinen: 1. Unesta tehty mies (Man made from sleep) and 2. Kehtolaulu kuolleelle ratsumiehelle (Cradle song for a dead horseman). Esa-Pekka Salonen conducts the Finnish RSO.

  • Upea!!! Miten puhdasta... Taru Valjakka oli ensimmäinen Ratsumiehistä, jota kuulin Savonlinnan Oopperajuhlilla kauan aikaa sitten; nyt Soile Isokoski on todellinen tähti. Upeaa!

  • Upea!!!

  • I love her voice and emotional intensity...she is one of the great singers of all time.

  • patsy! she's awesome!

  • ok soile is my cousin so iam saying hi to her

moi soile se olen minä veli-mattin tytär

  • Absolutely lovely.

  • If you like Aulis Sallinen's operas, you won't be disappointed in his chamber musical drama, "Barabbas Dialogues." Profound libretto and intriguing melodies.

  • Sorry, my english is not perfect, but here is translation as I can do it::

    He comes from dream..

    Man made of dreams.

He comes at night thru the dream and that is too cruel. He is cold, he is longing.

He does not come when you ask, and does not go if you ask, he dont talk when you try to make him talk. He is cold he is loning.

I can not commannd a man who is dead.

What will I do to a man who comes thru the dream.

    This was the first song

  • I wish all 4 of the songs were available, I also wish itd have subtitles. I saw one of them with subtitles once and it was really deep surrealist stuff. Does anyone have the whole Ratsumies opera on dvd with english subs maybe? where can I get one??

  • Wow, that is great, this song is really hard to perform, this song is killing when it comes to singing it...
