Here I show different methods of making the hitch on bobbins when preparing them for lace making. First for bobbins wound anti-clockwise as seen from the head (usually used for linnen thread because of it's inherent twist), then for clockwise wound thread (usually cotton or silk).

  • Wonderful video! Thank you! I´m looking for bobbing lace video lessons... I mean, from the roots to the top (not the highest :P) Did you ever think about posting more videos? I´d suscribe!

  • @TheCaverNsMyth Thank you for the thumbs up! Actually I just bought a new digicam to eventually make some bobbin lace lessons - but I also have a full time job and so it might take quite some time until those will be ready to show.

  • Sorry totally off topic here, but can I ask the name of the background music for this video?? ^ ^;

    It's sooo beautiful!

  • @hoyan120 Glad you like the music - it's an Apple loop that I think comes with iLife (found it on my iMac when I created the video using iMovie).

  • Thanks so much for putting this on here. I remember reading those instructions, but couldn't figure out what they were talking about! Show us some of your lacemaking?

  • Thanks for the great video, I've been looking for info. on how to get started and your video very helpful. Do you have any other videos on how to get started on working a pattern?

  • Thank you for this video. I've been trying to figure out the double hitch from drawings in books, and the thread wasn't unwinding like it should. It's easier to see a person do it. Maybe I won't get such a headache after making an inch of tape, and watching my bobbins fall off the edge of the pillow.

  • Thank you Thank you!! I've found it! :D

    never played around with iMovie much haha

    also thank you for uploading your video! very helpful!

  • thank you excelent video
