In order to capture some of the shots that we needed while filming in the Panama jungle for End of The Spear, we decided to build our own cable cam. This video shows the construction and test of the device and output footage. For even more info visit

    Try that with one of our Wescam's or Cineflex systems! It'll be stable enough but the 28vdc (helicopter power) would be an issue. But great to see you improvise guys. That's what we all do best huh? Fix on-the-fly.

    But I'll stick to rotors :o)

    i built a non manned one with servo pan tilt control for a production in the northwest, total cost for a fulll sized 3chip hd camera came out to around 1500 dollars for materieals, machining, and rc control sytem. most cost is in the mechanical design and rigging! if you dyi, you can save BIG!
