As much as anything fireworks are about listening as watching: the commentator interrupts that to the point where he would be thrown out of the theatre, were it a primarily musical event, such as opera is.

So....marines aren't allowed to fast rope down a side of a castle yet men are allowed to ride up a river in a little boat loaded with hundreds of pounds of explosives. Both in front of thousands of people. what's the country coming to?

Nobody does fireworks like London! After watching the video clips for the 2007, 08, 09 and 10 displays, I am strongly considering going to London in person to celebrate new year.
