  • JUst a gun geek. Larry their not m-4 they are Galil's 7.62( Israeli ak)

  • @pangolin9 Actually they had M4s in the rehearsals. I changed them over during the shoot when the Galils arrived!

  • @kenpoboxingdt Back in the day. Vietnam era they would have been called Colt Commandos or XM177. Today still have Colt Commando (11.5") and the now called M4(14.5"), and M16(20"). Sorry I can't help myself!

  • @pangolin9 Certainly nothing wrong with knowing your weapons! Got a lot of that sort of stuff in the film, M4s, Galils,, along with some great Kenpo. You should pick up a copy and enjoy! Thanks for visiting.

  • @pangolin9 hey and another note, the Galil's in Colombia are now 5.56. The 7.62 were considered too heavy and have been replaced by the 5.56 model.

  • @kenpoboxingdt We know have the chance to own a semi auto version here. Century Arms is putting it out under the name Sporting/er Galil in .223/5.56. I find it interesting that IDF/Israelis use M16 and M4 so much when they have their own home grown weapons. How would you rate the Galil after its extensive use in Columbia. Good or Bad?

  • @pangolin9 well it's like the AK, the Galil is better suited for the battlefield and rugged conditions, needs less care, is very durable, whereas the M4 is better suited for Close Combat, needs a lot of care, accepts many accessories, compact and lightweight. Same ole same ole. I like both in their proper mission environments.

  • It would have been really cool to see Master Frank Vigoroux in the movie.

  • i have heard the FN Fal is also a great weapon and also the HK 416 and 417 have good reputation while working on harsh conditions, algo HK G36 as well.

  • @kenpoboxingdt Thanks for the replys. I just wanted to let you know how much I Enjoyed the video clips. I will pick up a copy. Kenpo was one of the arts I studied in my youth. It was under the Tracy brothers in Cleveland. Latter I tried some of the different arts that influenced GM ED Parker Sr., such as Splashing Hands/Lima Lama, San Soo(Woo), Bando(Gyi), Kuntao(Reeders), Kali(Inosanto) and the Kempo of James Mitose. I love watching Larry Tatum move because it reminds of old school. I miss it.
