Mental illness is a serious concern that affects millions of Canadians. Depression, anxiety, eating disorders, these are but a few examples of the types of problems that many Canadians must deal with on a day to day basis. Mental illness not only jeopardizes the health of Canadians but also represents a significant cost to the Canadian economy through medical expenses and lost workplace productivity. Moreover, traditional solutions such as prescription drugs and licensed psychologists have great shortcomings.
My name is Randy Ai. I'm currently a third-year student studying at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Ontario. In the past I've specialized in health sciences and psychology. As Canada's Next Great Prime Minister, I will introduce the Canada Cares Initiative. This program will redefine the way Canadians deal with mental illness and usher in a new era of community-based networks focused on the collective resolution of mental health issues. "It's a fact that modern society, with its emphasis on productivity, wealth and progress,"
I don't this argument is sound. There has been no proof showing a correlation between economic progress and mental well being.

I think your idea has a lot of merit. It's a fact that modern society, with its emphasis on productivity, wealth and progress, has come at the cost of our mental well being. Your proposal to institutionalize a remedy is as good an idea as any I've heard on how to solve this.
However, to be a Great Prime Minister, you need to be more than a single-issue individual. Where do you stand on the economy, foreign policy, energy, social issues and taxation?
