It actually in price ranges from 10-90 bucks a pop really. Though Most people I've talked to mention it doesn't taste like much. It's mostly just to kinda state one's importance.

I don't think anyone EVER eats it on a regular basis. I have eaten it, Chinese New Year, any type of celebration we would have it, although my family is pretty well off. We usually have it in a broth, and it has a very delicious and amazing texture.
Most people believe the cutting fins and dumping back into the ocean, which is true, this does happen, but most of the fins come from a shark that has been used for all it's body, not just it's fins.

holy crap.. i consider this the MOST EXQUISITE DELICACY MOST EXPENSIVE MOST FORBIDDEN secret ingredient on iron chef. i have high respect for sharks. and i am a animal rights supporter.. i will let this one go.. as i am honestly curious BUT only to this LEVEL of expertise and mastery \\\
seems like the challenger came to win, not to challenge. havent seen this episode! giving this my full attention lol. not picking a winner im still caught up in the ingredient
